Steve Morse continues to push the boundaries of guitar

For Steve Morse, the renowned guitarist of Dixie Dregs and Deep Purple fame, the concept of triangulation is at the heart of his long-running, three-piece band. So much so, that he selected it for the title of the Steve Morse Band’s first studio album in more than 15 years.

He talked to Michael Lello of Highway 81 Revisited about the Triangulation concept and album and the heartfelt tribute to his late wife Janine, about methods for songwriting for his group, being in a rock guitar fraternity with the likes of Steve Vai, Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal and Joel Hoekstra, collaborating with his long-time friends Eric Johnson and John Petrucci, and more.
