Once upon a time…
…I started making silver jewelry because I got inspired by a Deep Purple song, composed and played by guitarist Steve Morse. The first piece I made was a silver dreamcatcher with the inscription ”The Aviator”, the name of that song. I was lucky to get the opportunity to meet Steve in person many times with Deep Purple and one of those times I gave him that dreamcatcher piece.
Steve liked my jewelry and I got the idea to make silver pieces with music connection with played guitar strings attached. I had happened to have come into contact with Bill Evans who worked closely with Steve, and we started to cooperate to get a guitar string jewelry collection online. Steve’s guitar tech Tommy Alderson very kindly provided me with played strings, and in 2016 I managed to have a Steve Morse Silver & String Collection ready.
Everything I make is handcrafted by me. I also started to design and make some pieces for Steve and his late wife, Janine who also appreciated my work. Some of the pieces are made from Steve’s own ideas, like the ”Tumeni Partz” pick. Steve often wears my jewelry and you can see two pieces from Katya Arts in the header photo which I made for him. Those pieces are not in the collection however. But I do have plenty of other nice designs on offer, so just have a look in the collection.
